As I’ve found myself diving into various rabbit holes. Lock picking has to be the one that’s excited me, humbled me, and opened my eyes at the same time. Of course you see videos on it. You go out and get your first kit or lock pick set. You think you’re gonna pick every lock in the world. Until you try your first lock and realize it isn’t as easy as you thought…. Or is it?

Cloaked Entry have hands down created the perfect entry level course into this world in my honest opinion. After taking their course I understand the importance of lock picking. But more importantly I’ve learned the other various ways to achieve what’s needed. Not only does this class teach you how to achieve something with skills learned in class. But it teaches you that your mind and ability to adapt are far more powerful than any pick set you go out and buy.

After the 2 day course I feel that my skill set has improved drastically and that my confidence with that skill has more than doubled from before. I do understand that this is a perishable skill. You must practice to get good at anything. In the end the class was absolutely outstanding and the friendships made will last a lifetime. If you have been itching to find a good quality course put on by quality instructors I highly encourage you check them out.

Never did I think my surreptitious entry skills would become the most usable component of my EDC. While assisting my church prepare for a community event, I was asked to help retrieve some of the seasonal items from a storage locker complex. Immediately when I pulled up, I saw the other leader from my church standing with the owner of the site talking outside the locked door to the rear section of the facility. It quickly became apparent that they could not enter the building.

After inquiring about why they couldn’t get in, the owner explained that he was now the third owner since the church had rented the locker. With his permission, I retrieved my tool kit from my car which included a large flathead screwdriver, and my entry tools. Using the flathead as a pry bar, I pushed past the lock face cover, and used a latch rake to defeat the outward opening exterior door.

Once inside, to make matters more complicated, the church did not know the combination to the wheel lock since the employee who had out it there was long since gone. I explained them that rather than cutting the lock, I could decode it, but that the lock was mine once I did. With their consent, using the decoder from my wallet and a bit of common sense, I easily got through the lock.

Bottom line up front, amazing course! I am fairly new to the lock-picking/entry world. With Marcus and Mai's tutorage, I went from struggling with simple locks to opening more difficult ones with tools I made myself! (Even those pesky Brink's ones)

If you're new to the hobby, you won't find a better pair of instructors to learn from! I cannot recommend their Covert Entry 101 Course enough. I am nothing but excited about what these two come up with next!

Having attended a variety of courses similar to the Covert Entry course I was pleased to pick up some real gems of information within the material presented. Both instructors were knowledgeable and engaging throughout the course. Marcus is a natural instructor and has the ability to rapidly convey concepts to students in order to get those lightbulb moments. One of the areas that provided great value for me personally in this course was the time spent actually making and trying homemade tools. This is an area other courses usually brush past but is critical for anyone who may not want to or cannot travel with tools.
